Moomba ASL Championships 2024 went down at Riverslide Skatepark in Melbourne on the 9-10 March. The local Melburnians claim there’s something about the weather around the Moomba weekend - and as the skatepark reached temperatures above 50C they might be on to something. The scorching temperatures were enough to cancel music festivals yet nothing could stop the skaters from all over Australia from competing for the ASL champion titles and taking in that magical Moomba vibe.
QAS Youfor2032 Camp: Beep test in baggy pants
Earlier this year Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) and Skate Australia launched the Daredevil program - a talent identification initiative aimed at action sport including street and park skateboarding. As part of a 6 months development program the selected skate prodigies participated in a two-day development camp at Queensland Academy of Sports, joined by athletes from various disciplines.

Big Things Are Happening in NSW | Skate Clubs and Talent Programs on the Rise
The skateboard community in North and Mid-North New South Wales is booming, but so far it’s been lacking organized clubs and competitions. Now, things are changing as two new skate clubs have been created in NSW; Mid North Coast Skateboard Club and Northern Rivers Skateboard Club.
The Queensland Academy of Sport is Calling all Daredevils
Do you have what it takes to become the next Olympic skateboarder for Australia and compete on home ground in Brisbane in 2032? The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) has launched YouFor2032, a talent identification initiative aimed at identifying Queensland’s future medallists. Within Youfor2032, the QAS has also launched Daredevils: an action sport-specific option for 9-15-year-old skateboarders from both Park and Street to give it a go.
Woodward is coming to Sydney
The utopian skatepark facilities that’s basically the Disney Land for skaters, with everything a skateboard heart can dream of - dreams that can come true if you have a big wallet and travel across the Pacific to the promised land of skateboard opportunity. In reality, an option reserved for the few, but that’s about to change. Woodward is coming Down Under and is set to open in Sydney, Australia in late 2024.
Sunny Skate Series: An Awesome Weekend In The Name of Skateboarding & Festival Vibes Coming Up
SUNNY SKATE SERIES: The wait is nearly over! This weekend the 8 - 9 October 2022 will see the first ever Sunny Skate Series competition go down at Alex Head Skatepark on the Sunny Coast, QLD. Mat ‘Chiggy’ Chigwidden is the man behind the madness - and for those who don’t know who this legend is we can assure you that he knows what’s up when it comes to creating fun skateboarding events - and he’s pumped for this one.
GIRLS SHRED SUNNY COAST
A KOVE CREATIVE X SLABZOO COLLAB: The girls’ skate scene sure is thriving on the Sunshine Coast and the regular girls nights at the local skateparks answer for part of the success - the ‘girls only’ skate sessions create a safe and welcoming environment for female skaters of all ages and levels. The Slabzoo team joined forces with Kristen from Kove Creative, who brought her camera to document the supportive vibe and true love of skateboarding amongst the keen female skaters.
Chloe Covell and Haylie Powell To Represent Australia in Rome 2022
It’s official! Chloe Covell and Haylie Powell will represent Australia at the Skateboarding Street Pro Tour in Rome 26. June - 3. July 2022. It is the first World Skate Olympic Qualification Event (OQE) held in the two year qualification period (June 2022 - June 2024) towards selection for the Paris Olympic Games 2024.

Pizzey Park Street Upgrade is OPEN!
It’s official, the Gold Coast now has a world-class, Olympic standard street skatepark. On Saturday 30. April 2022 the much anticipated $5.6 million upgrade to Pizzey skatepark opened to the public and it happened in true Goldie party style. The Grand Opening event attracted a huge crowd, hungry to finally hit that fresh crete and enjoy the fun entertainment and activities, incl. LIVE music, food trucks, bowl comp, rock climbing and skate demos, all afternoon. Feel the vibe from the photos here.
SCHEMA Collective brought the vibes to Coorparoo Skatepark
LOCAL EVENT: Art workshops, LIVE music and skateboard demos set the vibe at Coorparoo Skatepark on Saturday 5 February as SCHEMA Collective hosted a day for everyone to come together to celebrate the creative community in South East Queensland.

Trent Riley Memorial Skate COMP 2021
On Saturday 20 November 2021 Morayfield Skatepark was a beautiful mess of skateboarding, love and fond memories for the local skateboarder, Trent Riley, who went missing on Moreton Bay, 14th. April while fishing. Trent’s family had organised the day for everyone to come together and celebrate the legend, T Buna with a skate comp. And everyone sure did.
