SHREDDER OF THE WEEK: Tully Burke
You know a skater rips when the whole park will stop and watch him skate. This is what happens when 12-year old Tully Burke is tearing up the bowl at Alex Headlands in the Sunny Coast! His signature trick is an invert handplant and we could watch him do that all day. Tully is all about passing on the love of skating. He loves helping kids learn to skate and is often helping out at lessons or school holiday programs. What a young legend. Tully Burke is Slabzoo's Shredder of The Week!

What’s your favourite thing about skating?
Having fun, meeting new people and learning new tricks. I like learning from the older skaters about what skating used to be like and what tricks they did.
Who are your favourite skateboarders?
Pedro Barros, Alex Sorgente and CJ Collins.
I like skating with Slothy and Rezza who teach me new tricks.
What do you do when you're not skateboarding?
Fishing, taking out my little boat, surfing.
What has been the hardest trick to learn?
Kickflips took me ages.
What is your favourite skateboarding spots?
Drop in and kick turns and just keeping my feet in the right spot.
What was the first trick you learned?
Alex and Dicky’s.
What tricks are you practising at the moment?
Different grabs, lip tricks and some more street.

Crazy!
What do you dream about achieving with skateboarding?
Learn lots of tricks. To keep on helping kids learn to skate at lessons and in school holiday programs.
What’s the worst slam you’ve had?
Clipping on the gap at Alex and then face planting and getting stitches!
What’s your best skateboarding memory?
Skating Pretty Poison in Bali.

Advice to other kids starting to skate
To keep skating and learning new tricks. Skate with friends and make sure you are having fun.

I do online school and have a Red Cattle Puppy called Kija!
