BOWLZILLA: 16 & UNDER RECAP, RESULTS, PHOTOS
BOWLZILLA: Jake Thatcher is ASF Australian Park Skating Champion 2021 in the 16 & under division. He won BOWLZILLA 2021 in front of Freddie Arnold and Logan Graff. The entire 16 & under division was lit and the final was close as can be. The level of bowl skateboarding by these young rippers was definitely a national championship worthy. The 16 & Under podium
The young skaters gave it all they had in this year’s BOWLZILLA 16 & Unders contest. The 24 boys were the first to drop into the Elanora bowl on Saturday morning - and what a start to the day.
Huge airs and technical lip tricks were thrown all over the place. No-one played it safe and the crowd was in for a treat.
So many good young skaters are coming through. Yet, the judges could only send 8 of them on to the finals and amongst them was little Louie Daiguchi - he’s only 7 years old. Yeah, the future sure looks bright for Australian bowl skateboarding.
Zen Dickson did an on edge run and even if he didn’t make it into the finals he still made his way to the podium as his coach Trev Ward pulled him up and gave him the $100 he won himself - so deserved and what a coach.
The final was a true firework of energetic skateboarding at a level never seen before in the 16 & unders. Jake Thatcher, Freddie Arnold, Logan Graff, Nakula Boag, Lukas Byers, Harvey Campbell, Jack Lewis and Louie Daiguchi gave the crowd what they came for. Thanks boys!
All 23 competitors did amazing and they can all be so, so proud of their effort. We are definitely excited to follow their skateboarding journey in the future and hope to see many of them back at BOWLZILLA 2022.
