SHREDDER OF THE WEEK: Tristan Moffat
He came out of nowhere and finished 6th at his first ever appearance at Rumble On the Reef last month. His progression has been second to none lately and he is only just getting started. 11-year-old Tristan Moffat is this week’s shredder!
How was your first ever experience competing at Rumble On The Reef?
It was a great experience! I got to meet at lot of new skaters and created friendships with them.
The best thing about competing
The best thing was that my name started to get noticed in the skate scene.
What about the nerves - how did you handle competing in front of so many people?
I wasn’t really nervous as I had competed in many comps before. But if you are nervous, don’t be - it’s not the end of the world if you don’t place, you just have to have fun [YES, Tristan!].
What’s your favourite thing about skating?
The community!

What do you do when you're not skateboarding?
I usually hang out with my mates or watch other skaters on social media
Your favourite skateboarding spot?
King George square 5 stair, King George square 2 block and Eagle street pier 3 stair flat 2 stair
The hardest trick to learn?
Kickflip
What was the first trick you learned
Ollie
What are you practicing at the moment?
Treflips, Switch kickflips and Nollie Kickflips
What do you dream about doing with skateboarding?
Either becoming Professional or Sponsored
What’s your best skate memory?
Landing my first Treflip
What’s your worst slam?
I tried a frontside 50-50 on the jindalee out rail and fell on my belly and ribs.
