COMP RECAP: SPRINGFIELD regional competition

It went down in Springfield for the regional skateboarding competition yesterday, Saturday 7. November 2020. Especially the U12 division was pumping and showed us all that there are some serious groms out there to look out for. Here we give you all the results, photos & videos from the competition.

The judges got put to work on this sunny Saturday in early November. MC Theo was on fire and made sure that everyone in the audience knew which tricks were going down. Because, let’s face it. As a spectator it is not always easy to keep track of the constant airs, flip- and rail tricks out there on the park.

There were skaters from 6 years old and up. Parents, skate enthusiasts and friends were camping out in the shade watching the 4 divisions while trying to keep hydrated. Kids were cheering on each other and among the fun you did sense a few nerves to be dealt with. Scroll down to see all the pics from the day!

The format for all divisions were as follows:

  • All participating skateboarders got three 1 minute runs.

  • There were no finals, but after the 3 runs, the top 50% continued to do their 3 best tricks each.l

  • Each skaters top 3 scores (e.g. 3 runs or 1 run + 2 tricks etc.) counted for the winning places.
