SKATE MOVIE PREMIERE: BRISSYBOYS
Just a month after the premiere of all-time legend Pat Gemzik’s ParliAMent video project another Brisbane part is about to hit the streets and the screens all over town. A bunch of young local skaters are behind the project and their video, BrissyBoys goes on air tomorrow, Friday 15th. January 2021. Get hyped!
We sure are excited and decided to ask the boys some questions about the project.
Hi boys, we’ve seen some teasers here and there but can you tell us a little more about the BrissyBoys project?
- Yeah, sure thing.
Okay, first of all, who’s in the video?
- Six local Brissy skaters; Tristan, Andy, Jai, Joe, Charlie and Raph
Cool. Tell us a little bit about the name ‘BrissyBoys’. Like, is BrissyBoys just the name of the video or is it your crew name or something different?
- BrissyBoys is our crew’s name but we also used it as our name for the video.
Easy as. And what a crew!
Who filmed and edited it?
- We don’t really have a designated filmer, we just get our friends to film for us, but Liam is one of our main filmers. Our editor was Tristan.
Team work makes the dream work. When did you start filming for the video?
- We have been filming since the 2nd of November 2020.
Wow, not even that long. You guys must have been so busy getting all the footage in.
Are there any parts that were particularly hard/crazy/scary/fun to film?
- Yeah, Tristan’s front board on the long Bracken down rail was intense
Sick! He’s a ripper, for sure. Have you been inspired by other skate videos/filmers out there?
- Sure has. Videos like Brisbangin and Brisbangin 2 inspired our video part
Keeping it local, we like it. Any shout-outs to other local skaters/shops etc.?
- Definitely, shout-outs to Liam, Tigar, Luka, Jeremiah and Patty. And to Parliament and Paddo wax for their support too.
Thanks heaps for your time - we’re sure BrissyBoys is gonna be a banger!
- No problem
