The upcoming holiday is just around the corner and there is a lot of skateboarding happening around Queensland, from Rumble on the Reef to skate camps, day tours and holiday skateboard lessons. There’s something for everyone. So, if you’re after fun skateboarding activities while school’s out for Spring - this holiday skateboarding guide is for you!
Term 3 HOLIDAY DAY TOURS
Day tours are a great way to skate various skateparks with new and old friends and coaches. And you parents can get a whole day of work in while your kids have the best time - not in front of a screen. What a win!

LEVELUP School Holiday Tours are a great way to get the kids out of the house and active.
Participants receive a 7 hour Full Day session to develop their skills at different skateparks across the Gold Coast.
It’s a fun filled day with skating and meeting new people on skate tours. Jump in their 12 seater van and have the time of your life with your skate coach and host.

INDOOR SKATEPARKS - DAY PROGRAMS
There are a few indoor skateparks around South-East Queensland and some offer drop-off day programs during the holidays. They include lessons, lots of free skate and fun activities. What better way to spend a day for the kids?

Alley Oops indoor skatepark has launched its first Easter Skate camp. There are no sleepovers, but you can come skate in the park in Caloundra every day of the holidays. There will be one-on-one and group coaching, games, theory and fun.

Chiggy’s Skate Camp
Camping, swimming, skating and having fun? Get on to the full 4 day/3 nights camp in Coolum.
When: Sunday 19 Sep 4:30PM – Wednesday 22 Sep 4:30PM
Mat Chigwidden and Hayden Howse facilitate the camps, catering for up to to 21 participants fro the ages 7 – 16 and are supported by a dedicated team of volunteers all of which are blue cardholders and first aid trained.

Level Up Skateboard Camp
Stay onsite at Level Up’s indoor skatepark for their 3 DAYS OF POWER! camp.
When: Tuesday 21 - Thursday 23 September
The camp includes one-on-one and group lessons with professional coaches at Level Up’s indoor facilities and at local skateparks. You stay in their purpose build dorms, have access to chill-out-zone and get exclusive after-hours skate opportunities at LevelUp.

WORKSHOPS & EVENTS
The skateboarding community always comes together in the holidays and there are lots of fun workshops and events to join.
Yeah Girl Grip Tape Art Workshop
Grip tape is the ultimate skateboarder’s canvas. Everyone will receive a sheet of grip tape to decorate and make their own, with paints, markers, and scissors ready to go. You can also bring along your skateboard and add a bit of creative flair to the grip you’re already using.

SKATE PARADISE
Skate into paradise these school holidays with free Skate Paradise workshops at Paradise Centre, Surfers Paradise. From Monday 20 - Friday 24 September, join free skateboarding workshops hosted by the legends at Rock ‘N’ Slide Skateboarding, and skate deck art workshops with artists from The Chroma Club.
FREE SKATEBOARDING CLINICS:
Time: 10 am. & 11 am. & 12 pm.
Dates: Monday 20 - Friday 24 September
Learn all the skateboarding basics and skills - you'll be up and cruising in no time! All equipment and safety gear is provided. Suitable for kids aged 4-12 years. A safety waiver will be required to be signed prior to the commencement of the workshop. Classes run for approximately 45 minutes.
FREE SKATE DECK ART WORKSHOPS:
Time: 10 am. & 11 am. & 12 pm.
Dates: Monday 20 - Friday 24 September
Paint and decorate your very own skate deck to take home and display on the wall! All participants will receive a plywood skate deck and all the art supplies needed to 'deck' it out.* Plus the team from The Chroma Club will be on hand to assist with artistic direction. Suitable for all ages (kids and adults welcome). Workshops run for approximately 45 minutes.
Plus, every attendee receives a goodie bag! Both events are run in line with COVID safe protocols and therefore, bookings are essential.

It’s not in South-East Queensland, it’s in Mackay, but it’s the skateboard event of the holiday - if not of they year.

There are heaps of pop-up skate lessons throughout the upcoming holidays all over SEQ. They are great to keep the stoke going or to have a taste of skateboard lessons, if you’re new on the skateboard.
